Hygiene sensors were first introduced in India in 1996 or 1997 when the need for Automatic Sensor Operated Flushing or Touchless Sensor Operated was felt in public washrooms. This is because people started getting aware of ‘Hygiene’ which can only be maintained by a no-touch intelligent sensor in a public washroom. No-touch operation further made sure that there is no wastage of water due to continuous running of water in urinals & wash basins which were human dependent as were operated manually through touch.
